Gem, Georgie is asleep, so we have just enoughtime to shoot an episode and get dinner ready.
Hi Bold Bakers, while in quarantine we haveseen a huge spike in our pizza recipes online.
And I know that not every single one of youhas access to an oven, so I’m gonna do what
I do best, I’m gonna show you how to takea traditional recipe and do it an alternative
way. Like how you can make ice cream withoutan ice cream machine, how you can make a cake
without even putting it in the oven. And nowI’m gonna show you how you can make an awesome
pizza 100% on the top of the stove, neverneeds to go into the oven. So now let’s
talk pizza dough, I am using my best everpizza dough this is no knead because I have
yeast in my fridge. However not everyone hasaccess to yeast right now, so what you can
do is my 15 minute pizza which doesn’t needany yeast at all just baking powder. So lets
start out with y our pizza dough on a nicefloured surface. So we’re gonna do everything
the traditional way, the same way you’dalways make pizza. I like to roll my pizza
dough, not everyone does but I know a selectfew chefs that do. Gem the viewers may notice
the look is a little bit different today, yeah, I’m behind the camera once again.
The look and feel is a little bit differentlike I said we’re in quarantine and our
team are practicing social distancing in theirown houses so it’s just Kevin and I filming
today, and we’ve been doing this for a fewweeks now. But you know what? I’ve seen
so many people on tv and online doing it likeall the night shows, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen Degeneres.
And there’s a saying in this house, if it’sgood enough for Ellen Degeneres it’s good
enough for me. So there you go. So roll outyour pizza dough like you would any pizza
dough, get it nice and thin. Like I said, this is my best ever no knead pizza dough,
this is my absolute favorite, it kind of givesyou a Neapolitan style pizza. Since everyone
is staying at home and practicing social distancing,15 minute pizza has gone off the charts hasn’t
it Kevin? It’s been amazing, unreal, loveto see what you all have been making. So we’ve
been getting pizza photos in every singlenight, I’m checking instagram and they’re
just inundated. You don’t wanna get it anybigger than the size of the pan you’re going
into. So lets talk pan, over here I have anon stick pan you can also use cast iron.
If you don’t have a non stick pan you mightwant to put a little bit of oil in it. But
I’m just gonna turn mine onto a medium lowheat. So my pan is around 10 inches, so that’s
the size I’m gonna make our pizza. So I’mjust gonna form the crust a bit while our
pan is heating up. Over here, Kevin, you mighthave noticed my pizza accoutrements. So Gem
we’re not going to top it yet are we? NoNo! We’re going to start by cooking our
dough, this is a very exciting method. Sowhile our pan is heating up I ransacked our
fridge and found little bits and pieces ofthings we can use as pizza toppings. There
was actually quite a lot there. So I havesome cooked sausage right there which is my
absolute favorite, some pepperoni, a littlebit of red onion I had, half a bell pepper,
some basil lucky enough, some grated cheese, mozzarella, I always have grated mozzarella
in the fridge or in the freezer. And thisis my homemade 5 minute pizza sauce, and that
recipe is on BiggerBolderBaking.com . Gemthat recipe is actually about as popular as
the pizza. Oh really? Yeah 15 minute pizza. That’s nice, well everyone’s at home and
they have to make do with what they’ve got.So they make their own pizza sauce that’s
great. Our pan is nice and hot, will we goin with our dough? Let’s do it! So lay your
pizza crust in the pan and then pop on ourlid. So now what we’re doing with our lid
is kind of creating a little bit of an ovenon the top of the stove. So it is going to
steam and kind of cook at the same time. Sowe’re gonna leave this on and it’s gonna
cook on this side for around 3-4 minutes. We’re gonna see it start to brown and we’re
gonna see it start to bubble up as well, it’sgonna be lovely. So right now we’re gonna
wait a few minutes and let the pizza do it’sthing. So Gem you’re quite a pizza connoisseur
you’ve been making pizza crusts for a whileright?I like to think so, I love pizza and
I love pizza making. This recipe, this recipeI’m doing is the best one I’ve come up
with, but I’m always trying different things. And Kevin you know, we eat a lot of pizza
in this house. We sure do. So Gem this Isa recipe you can make even while baby George
is taking a nap right? Yes baby George isin the sitting room, chilling out because
it’s his nap time right now, so we’retrying to get this episode done really fast.
So it’s been around 3-4 minutes so we’rejust gonna turn it over. Let it cook on the
other side as you can see we’ve got a nicelittle bit of brown, you don’t wanna get
too much brown on here yet. And then on theother side we’re talking around another
3 minutes or so. For this side I leave thelid off, because we’re just kind of frying
it and getting some color on the other side.So it’s been around 3-4 minutes on this
other side and I’m going to flip it over. We’ve got a nice bit of color. So now this
is the really fun part, this is where we getcreative and top it so let’s go nuts. So
like any pizza we’re going to start withour tomato sauce, all the way to the edges.
So you can use store-bought pizza sauce butI know that it’s one of those items out
there that’s hard to come by so you canalways make it yourself. It’s actually really
easy to make. We’re gonna go on with ourmozzarella. As you can see I’m really generous
with my mozzarella. Like so. And I’m justgonna add a little bit of everything. So some
cooked sausage. I like to bring my toppings,in case you didn’t already know, all the
way out to the edges. It drives me crazy whenyou get a pizza and it’s all crust and hardly
any toppings. Because that’s not pizza.Little bit of red onion, some peppers, pepperoni.
Feel free to keep this pizza vegetarian ifyou want that’s totally up to you. And then,
a little bit of basil on top for flavor. Gorgeous.Gem this is kinda the works pizza. It is,
it’s a little bit of everything. Well thisis gonna be our dinner you know Kevin so you
want to have some meat, some carbs, some veg.So here’s what we’re gonna do. Now we’re
gonna turn off the stove. And then we’regonna go back on with our lid. So with the
residual heat in the pan you’re cheese isgonna melt, your sauce is gonna get warm,
all your toppings are gonna get nice and warm. And all the flavors are going to marry together
so you don’t need the heat on and our baseis already crisp remember that we already
fully cooked our pizza base, so all we’redoing here is just letting things heat up,
get nice and tasty and then we’re done!So there you go, it only take s a few minutes
and look how beautiful that looks. Do youhear how crispy it is? Oh my gosh. Smells
amazing! Gorgeous. Nice bubbly, you see this?Nice bubbly crust, just as if you’ve made
it in the oven. That’s a legit pizza Gem!You hear that Kevin? Some crunchy crust huh?
Oh my gosh. It’s insane. I would never knowthat this was made on the stove top I would
never ever know. So the fun doesn’t haveto stop here, go check out all my other pizza
videos and see which one of those recipesyou wanna make on the stove top. Alright,
we finished just in time!
